Fall is fresh. It’s crisp and crunchy. It’s picking dewey fall fruits with rosy apple cheeks. Fall is fresh. And fresh is fine. But it’s not very interesting. We’d rather be dirty. But that’s our secret. 

Because no one has to know that you haven’t washed your hair in a week when you’ve had better things to do. Starting an empire. Learning Korean. Memorizing Pi. Teaching all your friends a dance you made up in a dream. Successfully actually reinventing the wheel. Rolling around in mud. Building a statue in your own honor. You know: grown-up stuff. Rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty. 

And we love being dirty. But we don’t want it to come out the wrong way. Like greasy hair. Like looking like spaghetti. Or wet noodles. That’s not the way we roll. 

So don’t be greasy. But maybe just a little bit dirty.
